Hall ... exhaustive UCS coverage and a reporting stamina that outlasts even UCS officers' passion for procedural minutiae ... the drugs and sex poll, for revealing our built-in biases ... iMacs and Adobe Creative Suite 3 ... the John Hay Library, University archivists and others helping us preserve our history ... our fantastic alumni leaders who support our plans and provide guidance ... Sudeep Reddy ... bylines and the gratification they bring us ... our loyal readers ... the Frisc, for providing us with a ready-made wildcard photo as well as a comfortable and convenient study space ... the many evening dining establishments on Thayer Street for keeping us well-fed ... the renovated Au Bon Pain for alleviating the (eventual) dull repetition of our dinner options ... Charles ExSavior and his slammin' tunes... Store 24 runs in general ... staff mix CDs, even Canadian ones ... Alice, Susan and the other grown-ups who keep an eye on us ... new chairs ... copy editors ... kerning ... the beats system ... and other things that make 195 Angell St. more livable ... whistleblowers, the disgruntled and the overly motivated ... outsourcing page reads ... Warren Alpert for making some actual news, plus that whole philanthropy thing ... magazine-length pieces ... Starbucks, though not when it runs out of peppermint ... large, sugar-free cans of Red Bull ... S/NC and only 30 credits to graduate ... professors who understand we spend 60 hours a week in a newsroom ... Herald Happy Hours ... enthusiastic freshmen ... 195 Angell: Both the office and the newsletter ... "The Office" ... Ratty take-out ... greenswards - printing that word may be the only perk of reporting about the Walk ... free printing in the office ... internationalization, for taking up a lot of space... kickball victories ... getting picked up by the New York Times and other major news outlets filled with former college journalists who understand the impact of a shout-out ... senior spring ... Wikipedia entries ... our reporters' unfailing eagerness to pore through impenetrable University reports and brainstorm an astonishing number of synonyms for initiative, enrichment and internationalization ... crime logs for amusement (donuts anyone?) ... datelines from our New York bureau ... wire pulled by our Little Rock bureau ... knowing what we're doing next year ... and keeping our options open for those who don't ... .5ers with two more semesters to go ... Buddy's return to the city that loves him ... amusing GISPs, student documentary filmmakers, skunks, Dining Services alterations and other things that fill our pages when needed ... Nice Slice ... independence from the University (that's right)... our subscribers and dedicated online readers (hi, mom!) ... our enormous army of regular contributors - 230 and counting ... standards of decency ... our dedicated design editor ... making it through 113 issues ... only having nine more ... and knowing that we'll miss this place when we're gone.
