The dot-com boom may have died years ago, but a series of successful businesses started and run by current Brown students proves that college entrepreneurship opportunities still abound. Although the University may have a reputation for being anti-corporate and has limited business-related course offerings, Professor Emeritus of Engineering Barrett Hazeltine estimates he may have advised nearly a hundred burgeoning businesses over the years. The three companies profiled offer only a snapshot of start-ups flourishing at Brown. Entrepreneurship, said Hazeltine, "is infectious."
