Rough night for w. hoopsters in loss to BU

The women's basketball team got blown out of the Pizzitola Center yesterday, falling to Boston University, 87-58, to drop to 2-5 on the season.

Alex Young, one of four Terriers to score in double figures, burned the Bears for 33 points on 5-of-6 shooting behind the arc.

BU scored the first nine points of the game and never looked back, taking leads of 21-3 eight minutes in and 45-20 at halftime. Bruno played a stronger second half, closing well after the Terriers took an 81-45 lead with five minutes left.

Christina Johnson '10 led Brown with 19 points and Natalie Bonds '10 added 10.

The Bears will host the annual Brown BEAR Basketball Classic this weekend, facing UMass on Saturday at 1 p.m. and either Morgan State or Quinnipiac on Sunday at 3 p.m., before traveling to Kingston to face URI on Wednesday in their final game of the semester.
