Alex — a veteran metro writer — served as one of the section’s editors in 2015. Originally from Maryland, he complements his studies of biochemistry with laboratory research on pulmonary fibrosis, and is grateful for the opportunity to learn from Herald writers and editors in an area outside of his academic field. He is involved with Brown and RISD’s joint Catholic community, and also enjoys reading and running.
