Standing at 6 feet, 2 inches and weighing in at a whopping 205 pounds, former Sports Editor Alex Wainger was a force of nature in the newsroom in 2015. His eye for Oxford commas and internal thesaurus made him a generational talent — he was widely regarded as the Lebron James of sentence restructuring. The scouting report on Alex noted that he moonlights as a Computer Science nerd, often coding late into the night in hopes of graduating with an Sc.B. at the end of the year. If any competitors dared to challenge Alex to an editing duel, he could be found worshipping at his shrine to Bill Simmons, practicing his jump shot with crumpled up pages of notes on the Knicks’ perimeter defense, or loudly complaining about how hard it is to get a good bagel outside of his hometown of Manhattan.
