Coming off a win over Ocean State rival Providence College, the men’s lacrosse team looked to carry its momentum into a crucial Ivy League matchup against No. 10 Cornell Saturday.

The men’s lacrosse team showed strong defense in a Saturday game against No. 5 ranked Yale, but the Bears were outscored by the Bulldogs. They will face cross-town rival Providence College on Tuesday.

Coming off a series of losses to Dartmouth, Bryant University and the Naval Academy, the women’s lacrosse team (3-4, 1-1 Ivy) faced a pivotal matchup against Ivy rival Yale (4-3, 0-2) Saturday.

Katie Klein ’22, who is leading women’s water polo with 29 goals, helped the team to victory at the Harvard Invitational tournament on Sunday. Bruno defeated the Golden Knights 11-5.

Last Sunday, the women’s water polo team faced Gannon University at the Harvard Invitational tournament in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Anderson scored 13 points against Harvard and a career-high of 21 points against Dartmouth, aiding in the Bears’ victories over both schools.

The Bears lost narrowly to Stony Brook University on Saturday. Luke McCaleb ’20 scored an early goal for Bruno, but Stony Brook pulled away, going on a scoring run after the Bears got a defensive penalty. Despite a promising five goals from Darian Cook ’22 in the fourth quarter, the game ended with a score of 13-11 in favor of Stony Brook.

After opening its season with a 20-7 win at home against Quinnipiac University, the men’s lacrosse team (1-1) was back in action at Stevenson-Pincince Field Saturday against Stony Brook University (1-1).  Entering this weekend’s matchup, Bruno hoped to continue the same offensive successes against the Seawolves.

The 2019 men’s lacrosse team will be highlighted by All-American goalie Phil Goss ’20 and an influx of talent including two new coaches.

Men’s lacrosse struggles to contain Bulldog offense in loss

The men’s lacrosse team faced off against No. 6 Yale Saturday and looked to find its third straight Ivy League win following victories over Princeton and Penn.

After previously falling to Princeton, Yale and Penn, the Bears notched a notable victory against Cornell to win their first Ivy League game of the season. Bruno will travel to Harvard and Columbia in the next two weekends before finishing the season in a home matchup against Dartmouth.

Entering the weekend, the women’s lacrosse team hoped to secure its first Ivy League victory of the season against a No. 23 ranked Cornell team. The Bears (8-4, 1-3 Ivy) did just that, as a second-half comeback proved enough to down Cornell (6-5, 2-2 Ivy) in a nail-biter finish.
