The wrestling team split its weekend contests as it traveled to Cambridge to face Harvard and Johnson and Wales, coming away with a loss and win.

“I absolutely believe that wrestling against these nationally ranked teams does more good than harm,” Justin Staudenmayer ’17 said. “It provides our team with great exposure and allows us to see where we need to be come March.”  Bruno will head to Cambridge next weekend to compete against Harvard and Johnson and Wales.

The wrestling team set its sights on conference play, winning a match against Sacred Heart and losing against Bucknell at the Pizzitola Sports Center.

Sophie Bikofsky ’15 drives into the lane. Bikofsky, one of the team’s premier scorers, has also made other strong contributions to the Bears’ offense, collecting 10 rebounds in each of the last two games.

The women’s basketball team suffered its first defeat of the season Tuesday 78-69 to cross-city foe Providence College.

Sophie Bikofsky ’15 prepares to shoot a free throw. Last season, Bikofsky’s three-point percentage — 48.6 — led the NCAA, and the senior is Bruno’s leading returning scorer, averaging 13.5 points per game. She scored 17 points against the University of Vermont Saturday.
