Four men from the tennis team competed at the Harvard Halloween Tournament this past weekend. Andrew Yazmer ’12, Jimmy Crystal ’12, Luciano Musella ’13 and Miles Garrigues ’13 all played in both singles and doubles against players from six other schools.

Doubles teams represent Bruno at ITA Regionals

Six players on the men’s tennis team represented Brown in the four-day ITA Regionals from Oct. 16 to 19. Co-captains Kendrick Au ’11 and Charlie Posner ’11 advanced to the doubles final on the last day, losing 9-7 to Alistair Felton and Andy Nguyen from Harvard.

M. tennis wins with balance, leadership from juniors

The men’s tennis team hosted the Bruno Classic in memory of Margaux Powers —a supporter of the program who was murdered in May of last year — for the second time this year from Oct. 2-4. Boston College, Binghamton University and Georgetown University also competed in the tournament. The Bears exhibited a strong showing across the board, with every player who participated earning at least one victory in both singles and doubles.

Women’s soccer loses two close games in Arizona Classic

The women’s soccer team traveled to the University of Arizona over the weekend to compete in the Arizona Classic, losing to the University of Arizona 2-1 and the No. 21 San Diego 1-0.

Men’s water polo takes two out of three at MIT Invitational

In its season opener at the MIT Invitational last Saturday, the men’s water polo team narrowly edged Claremont-McKenna College, 8-7, to claim its first victory of the season. The Bears then staged an exciting come-from-behind rally against the University of Redlands, sealing its second win at 9-7. Their winning streak came to an end, however, in the final game against the Pacific. The early lead by the Tigers proved too much for the Bears to overcome, as they fell 14-4 in the end.

Women’s soccer drops season opener

The women’s soccer team lost its season opener to Boston College for the second straight year Sept. 4, falling by a 5-0 score.

Fencing teams cruise to top spots at regional tournament
