Top runners rest during Fall Weekend

The cross country teams traveled to the New England Championships in Boston Saturday with squads composed of younger and less-experienced competitors. The decision allowed the teams to simultaneously rest their strongest runners while gauging the progress of developing athletes.


Among large field, squads finish strong

Despite competition from 44 teams in the gold division at last Friday’s Paul Short Invitational, hosted by Lehigh University, the cross country teams were undeterred. The men finished seventh with 255 points, narrowly edging out Dartmouth. Earning 393 points, the women ran to a 12th place finish, besting the University of New Hampshire by 32 points. 

Barrett ’14 and Bledsoe ’14 a dynamic duo in goal

It is often said that the best offense is a good defense, and the women’s soccer team exemplifies this adage with its two goalkeepers: Amber Bledsoe ’14 and MC Barrett ’14. During their first 17 games, the duo combined for 71 saves and allowed only 20 goals.


Veteran squads shine early

At Saturday’s Iona Meet of Champions, many experienced runners opened up their seasons with impressive performances. The men captured second place, 45 points behind first-place Iona College and seven points ahead of third place University at Albany. The women finished in third place, only five points behind first-place Iona College.
