Football suffers historic loss to Princeton

Saturday marked a new low for the football team, which suffered a historic loss against Princeton in a Family Weekend matchup. Princeton’s explosive offense went to work during the first half to put up an astounding 51 points.

Despite putting up 346 yards on the Holy Cross Crusaders, the Brown Bears lost Saturday. Team highlights included quarterback EJ Perry ’21 connecting with Scott Boylan ’21 for a 57-yard touchdown.

While the football team’s offense continued to thrive this weekend, a poor defensive showing doomed the Bears against the College of the Holy Cross Saturday, as they lost 47-31.

Brown quarterback EJ Perry ’20 wracked up over 100 yards in the Saturday game against University of Rhode Island, but the Bears were unable to come away with a win.

Football falls short in Governor’s Cup

The football team took on in-state rival University of Rhode Island in its home opener Saturday, hoping to add on to its 73-28-2 record in the historic Governor’s Cup. But despite over 500 total yards from quarterback EJ Perry ’21, the Bears fell to the Rams in a 31-28 nailbiter.

Although the Bears registered nine shots on target, ten corner kicks and nine saves by Max Gross ’21, the Aztecs came away the 2-0 victors.

Men’s soccer falls to San Diego State

The men’s soccer team dropped their third straight game Sunday to San Diego State University, losing 0-2 on two short range goals by the Aztecs.

Perry ’21 posted an impressive stat line of 183 passing yards, 227 rushing yards and five total touchdowns as he led the Bears to a win.

n his first ever game in a Brown uniform, EJ Perry ’21 scored five total touchdowns to lead the football team to victory over Bryant University Saturday.

Bruno’s 3-0 victory over Hofstra broke its five-game losing streak. The Bears will look to start a winning streak next weekend.

In its final weekend of action before Ivy League play, the field hockey team looked to create momentum.

Bruno did not score against the Howard Bisons until a strike by Malcolm Johnson ’22 found the back of the net at the 70th minute. The Colonials snuck two goals past the Bears in a Saturday match.

Men’s soccer bests Howard, falls to George Washington

The men’s soccer team headed south to the nation’s capital this weekend searching for its first win of the season and found it against Howard University with a 1-0 victory Thursday.

Hannah Butler ’21 was one of three Brown women to place in the top four in the Maribel Sanchez Southern Invitational cross country race.

Butler ’21 wins season’s first XC race

Hannah Butler ’21 started her cross-country season with a flash, winning the six-kilometer Maribel Sanchez Souther Invitational at a time of 21:58.74. The first-place finish marked the first collegiate victory of Butler’s career.

Will Mims ’21  earned a yellow card in the 80th minute of the game. The Bears maintained solid defense against the Hawks’ attack until the 88th minute, when Hartford’s Knights-Browne broke the tie, resulting in a 2-1 defeat in the Bears’ first game of the season.

Men’s soccer stunned by Hartford Hawks on late goal

After Michael Chung ’23 fired a shot past the opposing goalkeeper in the first half of the men’s soccer team’s opener against Hartford University this Friday, it looked like the Bears were on their way to a winning start for the year.

Despite a hard fought game, the Brown Bears lost to Cornell in their last home game of the season. Bruno will face Bryant on Tuesday.
