More than 2,500 miles away from their home in Orange, Calif., the Aboubakare sisters meet at their second home of sorts: the tennis court. At the Pizzitola Center, No. 1 singles player Bianca Aboubakare '11 had just beaten the Massachusetts No. 1 while her sisters, high school senior Carissa and sixth-grader Diana, looked on.

Sophomore fencers lead Brown to 20th at nationals

The fencing team tied its 2002 record by sending three qualifiers to the NCAA Championships to compete last Wednesday through Saturday. Adam Pantel '10, in men's foil, led the trio qualifying in sixth-place, followed by Randi Alevi '10, in women's saber, qualifying in eighth-place.

Gymnast makes rookie of week

Victoria Zanelli '11 earned Brown's top floor score, a 9.625 that was three-tenths higher than her personal best, on her way to earning ECAC Rookie of the Week honors for gymnastics at Brown's four-team home meet last weekend. She bested her previous record in the all-around with a 37.
