In the final televised gubernatorial debate , the four candidates clashed over whether incumbent Democrat Gov. Gina Raimondo deserved credit for improving Rhode Island’s economy and prompted heated discussions about education, school safety and the controversial public benefits registration system.

A recent poll of likely voters in the 2018 Rhode Island Senate races conducted by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center found that Incumbent Democrat Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (bottom) leads Republican challenger Robert Flanders ‘71 (top).

Former State House Deputy Minority Leader Joe Trillo (I), Gov. Gina Raimondo (D) and Cranston Mayor Allan Fung (R) debated at Roger Williams University Thursday night. Three independents are also running for governor.
