There has been some serious blowback, to say the least, around Brown Dining Services stemming from the extreme overworking of students in supervising and management positions.

Multiple current and former BuDS supervisors who spoke with The Herald said they felt pressured to work extra hours.

The University has launched a partnership with Bon Appétit Management Company to make dining services more sustainable and enticing, Brown University Dining Services announced on its website Sept. 1.

Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration Barbara  Chernow ’79 said the University will request proposals on dining from two firms.

Compost bins placed in Andrews Commons last year increased rates of recycling and decreased the amount of waste going into landfills when the containment rate remained below 25 percent.
