Today Rhode Island voters will head to the voting booths, where they will decide seven ballot measures.

This year, fewer voters and a shorter ballot are expected to mitigate the long lines that plagued 2012 elections. These long lines cause delays and  dissuade some people from voting, said Steven Brown, executive director of the Rhode Island American Civil Liberties Union.
