Guerrilla Girl brings bananas, intersectional feminism to University

A Guerrilla Girl, known by her pseudonym “Frida Kahlo,” strolled through the aisles of the Salomon Hall auditorium while handing out bananas to various audience members Wednesday.

Jillian Davis, company member of Complexions Contemporary Ballet, taught a masterclass last Wednesday as part of the Artists and Scientists as Partners 2019 Symposium.

Last Wednesday, Jillian Davis of Complexions Contemporary Ballet led students and community members with mixed levels of dance experience through a ballet masterclass.

ARMS co-founders Mirabella Roberts ‘20 (left) and Nicole Spring ‘20.5 (right) hope to continue their mission to combat the stigma surrounding mental health by creating outlets for artistic expression. Moving forward, they will focus on fundraising and planning similar performances and events.

Art to Reduce Mental Health Stigma kicked off Friday night with the Express Your Psych Open Mic Night, an event aimed at creating a safe space in Providence for individuals to illuminate and express their experiences with mental health through all mediums of art.
