The women’s softball team hosted Ivy League rival Dartmouth for two doubleheaders this weekend. The Bears dropped both Saturday games to the Big Green (10-15, 3-7 Ivy), but regained focus and came back with two walk-off victories, 5-4 and 4-3, the following day. Bruno (8-20, 5-7 Ivy) is currently in second place in the Ivy North Division.
The women’s softball team (6-18, 3-5 Ivy) fell to in-state rival University of Rhode Island (16-19) Wednesday afternoon at the URI Softball Complex. The Bears narrowly lost to the Rams 2-1 in the first game, before being routed 10-1 in five innings in game two.
The women’s softball team went 1-3 in league play this weekend in doubleheaders against Cornell and Princeton. The Bears dropped two games to Cornell (16-13, 7-1 Ivy) before losing a one-run decision to Princeton (9-20, 5-3) in game one Saturday. But in game two, Bruno (6-16, 3-5) bounced back to salvage a win from the weekend, outlasting the Tigers in a 2-1, 11-inning thriller to split the series.
