UCS elects new Vice President, Chair of Academic Affairs

The Undergraduate Council of Students elected William Zhou ’20, one of its chiefs of staff, to replace Camila Pelsinger ’20 as its vice president at its general body meeting this evening.

The UCS Vice President, who worked to develop pathways to address harm on campus, plans to continue collaborating with UCS.

Camila Pelsinger ’20 plans to resign as vice president of the Undergraduate Council of Students with an email statement to the general body ahead of tonight’s UCS meeting. Mar Weiss ’20, chair of academic affairs, also plans to resign today.

Serving as the Vice President of Brown’s Undergraduate Council of Students has been a joy and a privilege — one I will never forget. This semester I have a class, “AFRI 1030: Contesting the Carceral State,” that conflicts with UCS general body meetings and could not be accommodated logistically.
