Head Coach Jean Marie Burr, the winningest coach in Brown women’s basketball history, announced her retirement Monday following the end of her 26th season.

Guard Lauren Clarke ’14 helped secure the team’s fourth Ivy win of the season with her free-throw shooting in the last 40 seconds of the game. She finished off her Brown career with 25 points in her final two games.

The Bears finished their season this weekend on the road with a 46-43 win over Dartmouth Friday and an 87-67 loss to Harvard Saturday.

The Bears secured a surprising victory Saturday with a 61-58 win over Princeton, then the Ivy leader, after losing 70-54 to Penn Friday.

The women’s basketball team had a tough weekend at home, falling 66-59 to Columbia Friday and 78-53 to Cornell Saturday.

The Bears could not take down the Tigers’ strong offense Friday, leading to Brown’s 81-70 loss against Princeton. They lost again Saturday 78-51 against Penn, the team with the best defense in the Ivy League.
