Many Thayer Street restaurants plan to stay open, despite the 23 inches expected to fall in the area Friday and Saturday

Au Bon Pain and Antonios are the only Thayer Street establishments open, and the latter is only accepting cash.

The Sharpe Refectory will be open until 7:30 p.m. to all students, including those not on meal plan, wrote Russell Carey, vice president for planning and policy, in an email to the Brown community. All other campus eateries are closed today.

Telephone calls placed to both Whole Foods Markets near campus as well as East Side Market have not been answered. Many other establishments on the East Side — such as Pizza Gourmet and Pizza Pie-er — also appear to be closed.
