In order to be more respectful and inclusive of individuals with non-binary gender identities, The Herald has adopted the use of the gender-neutral pronouns “they/them/theirs” (as a singular), “xe/xem/xyr” and “ze/zir/zirs.” The Herald will use these pronouns for any source who wishes to be identified by them.
