The field hockey team fell to No. 4 Princeton, 5-1, on Saturday. The Tigers (11-2, 4-0 Ivy League) held advantages of 31-2 in shots and 18-1 in penalty corners, but Brown (4-8, 0-4) outscored Princeton in the second half.

The field hockey team beat Vermont, 3-2, in penalty strokes after double overtime on Sunday afternoon atop Warner Roof. The Bears improved their record to 4-6, though they stand 0-3 in the Ivy League.

The field hockey team split a pair of home games last week, beating Sacred Heart, 3-2, on Wednesday before falling to Dartmouth, 8-3, on Saturday on Warner Roof. Bruno’s 3-4 record is its best start since 2006, but the team has started 0-2 in Ivy League play for the third straight year.

The field hockey team lost its Ivy League opener to Columbia, 2-0, on Saturday in New York. Catherine Campbell scored twice on penalty corners, and the Lions (2-2, 1-0 Ivy) outshot the Bears by a 22-3 margin to drop Bruno to 2-3 on the season.

The field hockey team came from behind twice this weekend to beat Monmouth and Bryant on Warner Roof, running its record to 2-2. The two-game winning streak is the team’s first since October 2006, washing away the stain of a two-loss opening weekend.

The field hockey team lost its first two games of the season, falling to New Hampshire, 6-1, on Friday in its home opener on Warner Roof before suffering a 10-2 loss to Delaware on Sunday in Newark, Del.

Brendan Whittet ’94, an East Providence native who spent 11 years at Dartmouth as an assistant hockey coach, has returned to be head coach of Brown men’s hockey.

The men’s crew team had a fantastic finish to its season on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.

Three Brown athletes competed at the Division I NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship in June, led by Craig Kinsley ’11, who finished third in the nation in the javelin to earn All-American honors.
