The No. 11 men’s lacrosse team proved resilient against Dartmouth, Vermont and Delaware this past week, earning decisive victories against all three. The Bears advanced to an overall record of 7-1, and 1-0 in the Ivy League. In their Ivy League opener on March 21, the Bears toppled Dartmouth 14-8.

Following a second-place finish at Ivies last weekend, the Bears came back even stronger for senior night against West Chester University. Earning first through fourth in each event, the Bears totaled 188.350 compared to West Chester’s 179.400 in their last meet before the ECAC Championships.

With 1:23 left on the clock and the score tied 11-11, men’s lacrosse captain Jack Walsh ’09 scored a quick-stick goal off a feed from captain Kyle Hollingsworth ’09, securing a 12-11 victory for the No. 15 men’s lacrosse team (3-1) over No. 18 Denver this Sunday.

Earlier this week, men’s lacrosse attackman Collins Carey ’10 scored three goals and one assist to help the defending Ivy Champion Bears edge out Lehigh, 13-12. Carey has set the bar high for the rest of the season, already encroaching on his four-goal record of last season.

Though the gymnastics team was outscored by No. 11 University of Oklahoma (196.375), No. 13 University of Missouri (196.225) and No. 18 West Virginia (195.250), the Bears held their own last Friday at the University of Oklahoma, posting a 185.950 against some of the strongest programs in the country.

Following an impressive showing in a loss to Bridgeport on Feb. 8, the gymnastics team once again competed strongly on Feb. 13, coming home with a season-high score of 189.575. The Bears defeated the University of Wisconsin-Stout (183.825), but finished second to the University of Arizona (195.
