The equestrian team has gotten off to a great start this season, winning its first two shows. At Bruno’s home show last week, Allison Dungey ’13 helped the squad capture first place by winning the third class. For her outstanding performance at the Brown Show, the Herald has named her Athlete of the Week.

For the second weekend in a row, the No. 19 Bears (10-4) fell to division leader No. 13 St. Francis (12-0) on the final day of a weekend invitational. Bruno beat both Connecticut College (0-3), 19-2, who hosted the tournament, and Queens College (5-6), 10-9. On Sunday, St. Francis handled the Bears, 14-9.

They went up against the best, and just barely fell short. The men’s water polo team fell to St. Francis College last weekend in the finals of the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championship, held at Harvard.

Heading into the Bucknell University Invitational, the men’s water polo team (5-2) knew challenging teams were waiting for them. The tough tests of the weekend were games against No. 16 Navy (11-1) and No. 20 Bucknell (7-2).

The men’s water polo team still has plenty more games to play, but it is confident following two wins at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Invitational on Saturday. Led by Svetozar Stefanovic ’13, who returns after a standout freshman year, the Bears (2-0) handed Cal Lutheran (0-4) an 11-6 defeat and beat the Boston Metro Elite club team 11-7.
