M. water polo goes 1-2 at Easterns

The men’s water polo team traveled to Cambridge, Mass. this past weekend to face Bucknell, MIT and Fordham in the Eastern Division Championships. After falling to Bucknell, 8-6, the Bears defeated MIT in overtime, 7-6, but lost to Fordham, 8-7.

The men’s water polo team blew the competition out of the water to win the Northern Division Championship this weekend in Cambridge, Mass., for the first time since 1993. On Saturday, the Bears defeated MIT, 8-6, and the then beat No. 2 seed Fordham, 8-7, the following day.

As the Northern Division Championships swiftly approach, men’s water polo appears to be playing stronger than ever. In their recent game against MIT on Sunday, the Bears edged out the Engineers, 14-12.

West Coast trip a rough one for m. water polo

The men’s water polo team traveled to California this past weekend to play some of the country’s top ranked teams in the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational. Ultimately, Brown fell to four ranked teams in no. 20 California Baptist, no. 15 Air Force, no. 16 Santa Clara and no. 13 UC Davis, but was able to pick up a win against unranked Fresno Pacific. Despite the results, the Bears generally improved with each game.

Men’s water polo splits weekend

While much of the student body relaxed over the long weekend, the men’s water polo team traveled to Massachusetts to face Harvard and Iona. After a 15-8 win against Harvard on Saturday, the team fell to Iona the following day, 10-9.

M. water polo gaining momentum, chemistry

In the past week the men’s water polo team beat the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 6-5, and Fordham, 11-9, then fell to St. Francis by a score of 12-5. Despite the loss, the team is improving, and its “chemistry” is strengthening with each game, said Head Coach Felix Mercado.
