The field hockey team came close to beating its second ranked opponent Wednesday afternoon, falling to No. 12 Northeastern University 3-2 on Warner Roof. The Bears couldn’t overcome a rough first half in which they were outshot 13-1 and quickly fell behind by two goals.

The field hockey team came up big in its first road game of the season, defeating No. 20 Harvard in Cambridge, Mass., 1-0. Co-captain Kristen Vincent ’06 provided the offense for the Bears and goalkeeper Evelyn Brosi ’07 made four stops en route to the Bears’ first shutout of the year.

The Bears’ offense erupted for six second-half goals and reached a season high in shots on goal with 24. With the win, Brown improves to 2-3 (0-1 Ivy) on the year.
