Men’s water polo splits weekend

While much of the student body relaxed over the long weekend, the men’s water polo team traveled to Massachusetts to face Harvard and Iona. After a 15-8 win against Harvard on Saturday, the team fell to Iona the following day, 10-9.

M. tennis wins with balance, leadership from juniors

The men’s tennis team hosted the Bruno Classic in memory of Margaux Powers —a supporter of the program who was murdered in May of last year — for the second time this year from Oct. 2-4. Boston College, Binghamton University and Georgetown University also competed in the tournament. The Bears exhibited a strong showing across the board, with every player who participated earning at least one victory in both singles and doubles.

The 23rd-ranked men’s soccer team (5-0-4, 1-0-0) played in its third and fourth-consecutive overtime games last week, battling No. 16 BU (7-3-2) to a 3-3 tie in double overtime, and salvaging a 2-1 overtime win over Columbia Saturday in its Ivy League opener.
