The Corporation — the University’s highest governing body — approved a $1.34 billion budget for Fiscal Year 2022 at its May meeting, an 11.9 percent increase from last year’s budget.

The Corporation meets three times a year and has ultimate say over everything from dorm designs to tuition.

About two and a half years ago, I arrived at Brown as a first-year, flush with pride and new hope. Pride because I had heard from multiple people that Brown was not only an academically prestigious university but also one rooted in respect for input from the student body.
