Coming off a win over Ocean State rival Providence College, the men’s lacrosse team looked to carry its momentum into a crucial Ivy League matchup against No. 10 Cornell Saturday.

The men’s lacrosse team showed strong defense in a Saturday game against No. 5 ranked Yale, but the Bears were outscored by the Bulldogs. They will face cross-town rival Providence College on Tuesday.

Coming into Saturday’s game against No. 5 Yale, the men’s lacrosse team hoped to find its third Ivy League win for the year and avenge last year’s shootout loss against the Bulldogs.

Brown and Penn were the only undefeated Ivy League teams going into their matchup Saturday. The game celebrated the 50th anniversary of Brown’s 1969 champion team winning the school’s first Ivy title in lacrosse.

The men’s lacrosse team was defeated in a battle for first place in the Ivy League Saturday in a 16 -9 loss against Penn at Stevenson-Pincince Field.

Coming off a series of losses to Dartmouth, Bryant University and the Naval Academy, the women’s lacrosse team (3-4, 1-1 Ivy) faced a pivotal matchup against Ivy rival Yale (4-3, 0-2) Saturday.

The Bears lost narrowly to Stony Brook University on Saturday. Luke McCaleb ’20 scored an early goal for Bruno, but Stony Brook pulled away, going on a scoring run after the Bears got a defensive penalty. Despite a promising five goals from Darian Cook ’22 in the fourth quarter, the game ended with a score of 13-11 in favor of Stony Brook.

After opening its season with a 20-7 win at home against Quinnipiac University, the men’s lacrosse team (1-1) was back in action at Stevenson-Pincince Field Saturday against Stony Brook University (1-1).  Entering this weekend’s matchup, Bruno hoped to continue the same offensive successes against the Seawolves.

The 2019 men’s lacrosse team will be highlighted by All-American goalie Phil Goss ’20 and an influx of talent including two new coaches.

Good Night Lights continue to shine

About a year ago, security guards at the Sciences Library began shining flashlights from the 14th floor every night at 8:30 p.m. to wish children at the Hasbro Children’s Hospital goodnight as part of an initiative called Good Night Lights.
