The Rhode Island Department of Education will officially take control of the Providence Public School District on Nov. 1, President Christina Paxson P ’19 announced to the community at the Brown University Community Council meeting Oct. 15.

At the Brown University Community Council meeting, Dean of Admission Logan Powell noted that the number of early applicants who applied for financial aid increased by 11 percent this year as compared to the previous year.

Disconnect between faculty and staff has created frustration among University employees. Only 52 percent of staff respondents to a 2016 University staff climate survey felt they were treated with respect by faculty.
