The University’s Latinx dance troupe, Mezcla, hosted two high-energy, sold-out shows Friday and Saturday night in Alumnae Hall. The shows celebrated the group’s 25th anniversary as a campus organization.

Dance Extension’s and Divine Rhythm’s performances featured students and guest choreographers such as Danny Buraczeski.

In 1969, Julie Strandberg, distinguished senior lecturer in theatre arts and performance studies, founded the University’s Dance Program in the physical education department of Pembroke College.

The Aerial Arts and Acrobatics fall showcase, which began with a Shrek-themed performance, featured both individuals and group pieces on the lyra, silks and the trapeze, spread over two acts.

After Ulises Giberga ’53 began experiencing symptoms of Parkinson’s disease nearly 10 years ago, a friend recommended that he try out a nearby dance studio.

“Good Grief” highlighted the Internal Family Systems therapy method, which encourages engaging  with one’s “subpersonalities.”
