With Healthy Fall 2020 Task Force, Brown plans for next semester

The University announced the creation of the Healthy Fall 2020 Task Force, which will plan the reopening of Brown’s campus next semester in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic forcing students to evacuate campus last month. 

During a Tuesday faculty meeting, President Paxson stressed that the University must be prepared for the campus to either reopen all residential halls in the fall, operate completely online or for a hybrid of the two.

Brown to prepare both on-, off-campus fall semester plans

During a heavily-attended Tuesday faculty meeting held over Zoom, President Christina Paxson P’19 and Provost Richard Locke P’18 discussed future operations, including reopening campus for the fall and contingency plans for potentially continuing online learning next semester.

With industry competition pushing the recruiting schedule earlier each year, students have scrambled to complete applications, travel for interviews and keep up with school work. CareerLAB has instituted guidelines for employers in an attempt to lessen the burden on students.
