Cameras installed in Hegeman Hall

Following more than 15 instances of homophobic and anti-Semitic graffiti in Hegeman Hall since November 2019, the University has installed security cameras in common areas of the residence hall, said Koren Bakkegard, associate vice president for campus life and dean of students.

UCS also discussed proposed changes to its election process and finalized the details of its new equity and inclusion position.

Brown students find swastika graffiti in Hegeman Hall, cover it with star

Around six o’clock Tuesday evening, a student found a swastika scribbled in pen on the wall of his dormitory, Hegeman Hall Tower C. His friend covered the graffiti with a yellow paper star, and the students called the Department of Public Safety to report the incident.

Since late November of last year, over fifteen instances of homophobic graffiti have been found in Hegeman Hall dormitory.
