The Olney-Margolies Athletic Complex and One Davol Square in the Jewelry District, two of three venues where asymptomatic COVID-19 tests are being conducted, canceled all remaining scheduled tests Monday mid-day due to supply shortages.

After open houses, promotional giveaways and extensive advertising on campus, the first tenants will move into the apartments on June 1.

Glitz with a waterfront view — River House Apartments has debuted in the Providence Jewelry District. The development, located next to South Street Landing, is a modern structure in a historic, industrial district. Move-in days start June 1, said Development Leasing Specialist for River House Kasai Carter.

South Street Landing, a historical preservation project that was formerly a coal-fired factory, is now a University workspace.

The University announced that it will lease two floors of the future Innovation Center complex to house the School of Professional Studies.

Construction on the South Street Power Station, formerly known as Dynamo House, is expected to reach completion two months later than originally anticipated and be ready for use in November 2016.

The power station, adjacent to the I-195 redevelopment land, will house administrative offices for the University and nursing facilities for URI and RIC.

Leaders ranging from President Christina Paxson P'19 to Governor-Elect Gina Raimondo participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for the South Street Landing Project, a public-private collaboration, which will create a new shared nursing education facility for URI and RIC, as well as administrative space and graduate housing for the University.

The University signed a lease for space at the Dynamo House, with private developer Commonwealth Venture Nov. 5.

Previously at risk of demolition, the Dynamo House will be renovated as administrative space for the University. Rhode Island College and the University of Rhode Island will also use the space for their nursing program.
