The No. 11 men’s soccer team was defeated 2-1 by Dartmouth in a hard-fought battle Friday evening in Hanover, N.H. The Big Green (9-7-0, 5-2 Ivy) scored a controversial buzzer-beating goal in overtime, handing the Bears (12-2-3, 4-1-2) their second loss of the year.

The women’s soccer team lost in overtime for the second week in a row, falling to Penn 0-1 last Saturday in Philadelphia. Including the previous week’s loss to Harvard, the Bears (7-8, 1-5 Ivy) have now dropped all but one of their last eight games against Ivy League rivals.

Forward Ben Maurey ’15 scored the game-winning goal for the third straight game Saturday evening to lead the No. 11 men’s soccer team to a 1-0 victory at Penn. The win extended the Bears’ unbeaten streak to 11 games and marked their 10th shutout of the season. With only two conference games remaining, the first-place Bears (12-1-2, 4-0-1 Ivy) are that much closer to defending their 2011 title.

The No. 18 men’s soccer team put an end to No. 10 Cornell’s undefeated season and reign atop the Ivy League with a 2-0 victory Saturday afternoon in front of a boisterous crowd at Stevenson Field. With three conference games left in the season, the Bears (11-1-2, 3-0-1 Ivy)  have put themselves in prime position to defend their co-league title and keep it out of the hands of the previously dominant Big Red (12-1-0, 3-1-0). 


Bears soar over Eagles in final minutes

Striker Ben Maurey ’15 notched a flawless goal in the final minutes of the men’s soccer match at Boston College Tuesday to lift the Bears to a 1-0 victory over the Eagles. Maurey’s goal broke the Eagles’ (7-4-3) impressive seven-game unbeaten streak and gave the No. 18 Bears (10-1-2, 2-0-1 Ivy) their eighth shutout of the season.
