The No. 19 men’s soccer team continued its winning ways this weekend in a tough battle against Ivy League rival Harvard, clinching a 2-1 victory in overtime at Stevenson Field. In front of a large and enthusiastic home crowd, Bruno (9-1-2, 2-0-1 Ivy) won an important conference matchup against a struggling (1-7-3, 0-2-1 Ivy) Crimson squad.

The No. 19 men’s soccer team played to a 1-1 draw at Princeton’s Roberts Stadium Saturday, leaving the two teams tied for second place in the Ivy League. The Tigers (5-3-1, 1-0-1 Ivy) fought the Bears (8-1-2, 1-0-1 Ivy) to the end of their second double overtime match of the season.


Bears draw against Fairfield at home

The men’s soccer team, which jumped up to 19th in this week’s national soccer poll, battled Fairfield University to a 0-0 double overtime draw Tuesday evening at Stevenson Field. Head Coach Patrick Laughlin called it “a rematch from last year’s tournament game,” in which the Bears edged past the Stags by one goal to move on to the second round of the NCAA championships. Bruno (8-1-1, 1-0-0 Ivy League) and Fairfield (4-4-1) came into Tuesday’s rainy game prepared for a tough match.

Despite a strong non-conference record, the women’s soccer team has stumbled out of the gate in Ivy play. The Bears fell to Columbia 2-0 Saturday, which dropped the squad to 0-2 in conference play after a 2-1 loss to Dartmouth last week.

The No. 21 men’s soccer team kicked off its defense of the Ivy League title Saturday night by defeating Columbia 2-1. After playing four consecutive games on the road, the squad (8-1, 1-0 Ivy) returned home to an enthusiastic crowd and delivered a crowd-pleasing result at Stevenson Field against the Lions (2-6-1, 0-1 Ivy). 


Bruno heads West and brings home gold

  The men’s soccer team took home the Husky Classic title with two wins at the University of Washington this weekend, proving its long cross-country trip worthwhile. On Friday, the Bears defeated Washington (5-3-1) in dramatic fashion in overtime for a 4-3 victory, and Sunday they shut out Portland (2-4-1) with three goals to secure their triumph. The victories improved the Bears’ season record to 7-1-0.


300th win for head coach of women’s soccer team

The women’s soccer team beat Sacred Heart University 1-0 at home Sunday with a winner in the first half by Chloe Cross ’15, improving its record to 5-1.
