In an effort to bring more art to Thayer Street, The Wheeler School is working with Thayer Street District Management Authority to create a series of murals along the street.

The 32 Custom House Street mural features Lynsea Montanari, an educator at the Tomaquag Museum, holding an image of Princess Red Wing.

A new mural on the east-facing wall of 32 Custom House Street in downtown Providence began illuminating the cityscape this month, as Baltimore-based artist Gaia completed work on “Still Here,” a large-scale work commissioned by Providence non-profit The Avenue Concept.

Ranging from a melancholic portrait of a man to a serene ocean scene, colorful murals liven up the facades of shops, restaurants and other public buildings up and down Washington Street.
