Last week, on Sept. 10, 2020, President Christina Paxson P’19 sent an email to the Brown community announcing that the University would be moving forward with Phase 2 of its reopening plans.

Underground Thursdays returned in the form of a two-part Zoom series in place of their in-person format (pictured above). From spoken word poetry to Chinese harp, student performers joined from around the world to showcase their talents to the Brown community.

On Friday, President Christina Paxson P’19 announced that the University will cancel all non-academic events with over 100 people, among other precautions. These events include a University-wide dance and a chance for admitted students to visit Brown’s campus.

Three University students are currently being tested for novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). While the students are currently in isolation, test results are pending.

First two presumptive coronavirus cases reach Rhode Island

State public health officials announced Rhode Island’s first two presumptive cases of COVID-19 coronavirus Saturday and Sunday respectively after finding out that two people who had returned from a trip to Europe Feb. 22 tested positive.
