The University has begun the design phase of the Lincoln Field Building renovation, which will increase accessibility and optimize the space for the department of Earth, Environmental and Planetary Sciences.

Hegeman Hall, one of the three dorms that will undergo renovations this upcoming summer, primarily houses upperclassmen students on campus.

The Department of Facilities Management plans to renovate and update three dorms this summer, according to the Facilities Management Active Project List.

After a period of student activism and a feasibility study conducted by the University , $3 million in infrastructure renovations at the Ratty are already under way with plans to have the project completed by summer 2019.

The University announced a $3 million investment to install air conditioning throughout the Sharpe Refectory Sept. 28. After year-long efforts to secure A/C in the University’s largest dining hall, students and dining services employees are now turning their attention to claims of understaffing at the Ratty.

On Thursday, April 12, the University announced a multi-million dollar renovation of the Sharpe Refectory’s infrastructure, with the eventual goal of installing permanent cooling abilities there in the summer of 2019.

An $8.4 million set of dorm renovations planned for the summers of 2018 and 2019 will focus on cosmetic upgrades and routine upkeep. Vartan Gregorian Quad, pictured, will receive a new fire alarm system.

Upon stepping onto the fifth floor of the Rhode Island School of Design Museum a year ago, viewers were transported 200 years back to Victorian-era salons.

Though Wilson received a full exterior renovation five years ago, the new update will make the interior more accessible, which is particularly urgent given the high volume of foot traffic in the building.
