Brown receives $20 million gift to help provide full scholarships for U.S. veterans

A recent $20 million gift from Joseph P. Healey P’22 P’24 will create a permanent endowment for a scholarship for U.S. military veterans. 

Stephen Porder, recipient of the Fulbright-Tocqueville Distinguished Chair Award, will research geologic processes driving ecosystem development at the Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris next year.

With its 35-member spring 2018 cohort, the University produced the most Fulbright scholars of any U.S. institution for the third consecutive year, according to data published by The Chronicle of Higher Education Feb. 10.

The University hopes that offering new MFA scholarships for acting and directing will diversify the incoming class and minimize student debt.
