The Office of Title IX and Gender Equity received 12 more reported incidents for the 2018-2019 year compared to the previous year, according to their Annual Outcome Outcomes report for 2018-2019 released May 1.

Gorton participated in two cases related to the implementation of Title IX, which helped expand opportunities for women in athletics.

The University released a community report Feb. 1 that summarized feedback and concerns from approximately 75 students, staff and faculty on the U.S. Education Department’s proposed changes to Title IX regulations.

President Christina Paxson P ’19 submitted a public comment to the U.S. Department of Education on behalf of the University to recommend changes to the Department’s proposed Title IX regulations, according to a community-wide email sent by Paxson Jan. 29.

Title IX Program Officer Rene Davis spoke about proposed changes to the Department of Education’s sexual assault guidelines in a joint meeting hosted by the Title IX Office, UCS and the Brown chapter of NARAL.
