The volleyball team had a hot-and-cold weekend at home as the Bears (9-4, 1-2 Ivy) bested Dartmouth (5-7, 1-2) 3-1 in their first conference game on home turf Friday before falling to Harvard (3-9, 1-2) 3-0 on Saturday.

Libero captain Melissa Cairo ’18 recorded 28 digs in Saturday’s five-set duel against the Big Red. Following a  loss to Columbia Friday, the contest brought the 2017 season to a close.

The volleyball team overcame a two-set deficit to force a tiebreak fifth set Saturday against Cornell but fell short of a comeback.

The Bears were scoreless against the Quakers and Tigers over the weekend, continuing the team’s three week losing streak and leaving them 6-15 in the season and 1-9 in Ivy conference.

The volleyball team lost three sets to zero against both Penn and Princeton over the weekend.

In a change of pace from last week’s game against the Big Green, the Bears started quick, making strong defensive and solid offensive plays in Friday’s game against the Bulldogs, earning them a first-set victory. But it was not enough to top the Elis, and Bruno fell three sets to one.

After surprising first-place Yale by winning the first set comfortably, the volleyball team was unable to sustain early success.
