The women’s hockey team suffered a heartbreaking Senior Day defeat, losing a 3-1 lead to fall to Colgate, 4-3, in the squad’s final home game of the season on Saturday.

With the Bears down by two points and just six seconds left, Hannah Passafuime ’12 — Brown’s leading scorer — stepped up to the free throw line with a chance to tie the game at 64 and send it to overtime. But that’s not the way it went. Brown fell to Dartmouth, 67-63, on Friday night and Harvard, 66-51, the next night.

This weekend’s contests for the women’s basketball team looked oddly similar to last weekend’s. Columbia, which is 13-7, and Cornell, which has yet to win an Ivy League game, resembled last weekend’s league-leading Princeton and 1-18 Penn.

W. basketball has mixed weekend

Judging the women’s basketball team’s matchups based on pre-weekend records, the games went as expected. The Bears took on a red-hot 13-2 Princeton team on Friday night and a struggling one-win Penn squad on Saturday. Brown fell, 75-44, to the Tigers, but defeated the Quakers, 61-47.
