To the Editor:
The recent column by Derek Bangle '10 ("My first game of American football," Sept. 28) offered a critique of the Brown football team's loss to Harvard two weekends ago that crossed a line.
I find that criticizing a team after one loss is not only ignorant but also does very little to encourage the student body and promote Brown University athletics. Not only did Bangle criticize Brown's running game and defensive line, but he also blamed the Brown cheerleaders for their inability to raise crowd morale. However, it is the tone of his article and attitudes like it that have lowered crowd morale and continue to stratify Brown athletes from non-athletes.
