Women's golf falls in spring opener

More than five months after the end of fall competition, the women's golf team got off to a rocky start in its spring season opener. The Bears traveled to the Salt Creek Golf Course in Chula Vista, Calif. to square off against host San Diego State. The Aztecs were up to the challenge, however, besting Bruno with a cumulative score of 310, 39 strokes better than the Bears.

Brown was led by Sarah Guarascio '11, who shot 11 strokes over par for a score of 83, good for fifth in the field. Right behind her were classmates Julia Robinson '11 and Susan Restrepo '11 who finished tied for seventh and in ninth place with scores of 87 and 89, respectively.

Brown will look to shake off the early season dust this weekend in Cape Cod, Mass., in the Dartmouth/Harvard Triangular.
