Two cross country runners earned All-Ivy honors after starring at the 2008 Ivy League Heptagonal Championships at Van Cortlandt Park in West Chester, Pa., last Friday. Duriel Hardy '10 won First Team All-Ivy honors and Lara Heigis '11 earned a spot on the Second Team.
Hardy was the men's top finisher at Heps, and his time of 24:52.3 on the five-mile course was good for seventh place overall. His efforts helped Brown take fifth place as a team with a combined 142 points. Heigis took 13th in the women's 5K at the meet, and her time of 18:06.2 was the top finish for the Bears. The Bruno women finished in third place as a team with a total of 92 points.
Both the men's and women's squads compete next at the NCAA Northeast Regional Meet on Nov. 15.
