The three students currently studying abroad in Japan are safe and have been in contact with administrators since a tsunami and massive earthquake hit the island nation, according to a University spokeswoman.
The earthquake is the largest to hit Japan in recorded history. Preliminary estimates are placing the death toll from the disaster in the thousands.
