When she's not at the Herald, she can be found drinking obscene amounts of coffee, gracing people with her self-deprecating humor, and making annoying references to her undeniably superior hometown of Anchorage, Alaska.

On March 12, 1990, over 60 physically disabled individuals threw themselves out of their wheelchairs, abandoned their crutches and left their walkers behind to protest the delay of the long-awaited passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
