University bookstore under review

More than 35 years after it first made a home in the Brown Office Building on Thayer Street, and 12 years since its last renovation, the Brown Bookstore is again undergoing University review.

Lippitt leaves the University a legacy

Frederick Lippitt left the University more than $6 million and the Lippitt property at 108 Prospect St. when he died May 11. A longtime East Side resident and frequent donor to the University, he was 88.

Providence LNG facility expansion rejected

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission officially rejected KeySpanLNG's plans to develop a liquid natural gas facility at Fields Point, Providence, in a July 5 decision. At the same time, FERC approved Hess LNG's plans for a facility in Fall River, Mass., 16 miles to the east.
