When I was young, the best part of a haircut was getting the lollipop at the end.
I've grown up since then. Now, the best part of any haircut is Hairspray.
Just a few blocks away on Wickenden, Hairspray is a piece of cosmopolitan funk without the metropolitan price tag. Male or female, short or long hair, Hairspray's talented stylists will give you a cut that makes you feel like a million bucks - for about $35.
I won't go so far as to recommend a specific stylist, because they're all fantastic and reasonably priced. To get in with some of them, you have to schedule months in advance, but others take appointments just a few days ahead. Either way, you're sure to get a great cut or color. Each stylist has his or her own funky style - it's evident when you look around the room - but no matter what you're looking for, they'll give you a haircut that fits what you want and flatters you, too.
I'm a senior this year, and I probably won't be in Providence next year. I'm not yet flipping out about my plans for the future, being a real adult or making ends meet. Instead, I'm stressing out about where I'm going to get my hair cut; I won't know what to do if Hairspray isn't an option. And believe me - if I'm within a 90-minute drive of Providence, I'll be commuting.
