Hundreds of Rhode Island students walk out of K-12 schools in protest of ICE

The Herald spoke to students on Monday after many Rhode Island schools closed due to inclement weather.
Students have until Jan. 7 to decide between several grading options.
On Monday, thousands of high school seniors around the world were planning to open their Brown early decision notification at 3 p.m. EST.
The program has expanded to 191 vaccine clinics throughout Rhode Island.
Sackett Street school community members said they are confused by the lack of transparency surrounding the principal’s leave.
The lawsuit alleged the district failed to provide timely special education services.
There are 26,000 students receiving special education services in Rhode Island.
Two bilingual and six dual language programs are offered in the Providence Public School District.
The Providence Public School District is facing ongoing teacher shortages.
